My laptop crashed and I have recovered data by transferring it to CD. I had Windows XP as my operating system in my laptop, however, I am unable to read the file contents in my new PC with Windows Vista as my operating system. Is there a way to do so I can read my old files with Windows Vista?

OK, this REALLY bothers me…. How do you get more than 2 applications to show up on your windows Vista toolbar without having to use those annoying arrows? Everytime you open a third program, you have to use up and down arrows to nagivate the taskbar! I want all 3 programs to line up while minimized on the taskbar in a ROW!!! I tried to install the software that came with my gs300 camcorder and it said not compatible with this version of windows. Is there a way to make it compatible? Is there an update or something for the software to make it compatible with windows vista? I know the Panasonic ps-gs 320 has software compatible with vista. Can I somehow use that software with my camcorder? Thanks.

I am buying a computer in December, it will come with Vista Ultimate. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to install Windows XP Professional… supposedly there are way less issues, hacker attacks and the compatibility with other programs is better. And in case if you’re wondering, I will not use the computer for games; although I only plan to get GTA IV on PC when it comes out… what should I do?
