Using the Window Vista, can I still run computer games designed for Windows 98 and XP, or would I have to rebuy everything for the Vista?

Also, just a quick extra question, does anyone know a good laptop that uses XP that is fast, great memory size, and still under $900?

I have a norton virus that came with windows vista and I have added a c cleaner and spybot that I used daily but still I received an alert that it almost got hacked into but the problem was detected and fixed. So I wanted to get as much protection I can to prevent any kind of virus or anyone getting into my computer. Is this enough or do I need to download more. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
