Is Windows Vista notoriously bad for dropping network connections?

windows vista
I have worked with three Acer Windows Vista laptops that have major problems with randomly dropping wireless networks, even when the computers are right next to the router.

They come back in under a minute, but its hella annoying!

Is this Acer’s network crad or Windows Vista?

vista is fine… could be a driver problem or a problem with the router.

try using a different brand of computer or play with some settings

I don’t know what’s causing it, but I do know that Vista has a bad reputation with all kinds of hardware. Printers, scanners, wireless devices, etc. Hopefully Service Pack 1 will fix many of these issues.

I have never seen this happen on any Acer I have worked on. Could it be your router?

i have a windows vista on my computer and it works well….i think its the router that is having problems….turn off the router and get a tooth pick and turn on the router and poke that button in the back to reboot your router.
